Italian Bread
Servings: 2 rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2½ cups flour
- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
Instructions
Traditional
- In a large mixing bowl, mix warm water, 1 cup of flour, sugar, and active dry yeast. Cover with a towel. Let stand for 10 minutes.
- Add flour, oil, and salt. Knead for five minutes until fully formed.
- Place the balled dough in a greased bowl. Spray oil on the dough and cover with saran wrap. Let rise for one hour.
- Preheat oven 400° F.
- On a floured surface, shape two logs and slice slits on top. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Slice slits on top. Let rise for 20 minutes.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Brush vegan butter.
- Enjoy
Bread Maker
- Place ingredients in bread maker in order of the list above or directed by your bread maker. Set on dough setting at 1 lb. Wait until the dough is done, about an hour.
- Preheat oven 400° F.

- Bake for 20 minutes. Brush vegan butter.
